You wanna talk about an average joe wino, get a load of this guy! Someone told me about this interview and how badly I needed to see it. Gary Vaynerchuk is a wine expert who's view on wine is that it should be enjoyed by anyone at anytime for any occasion. Basically the impression I got from this guy is, if you like it, drink it! What a great way to look at wine. He has a video podcast where he recommends wines and educates on wine tasting. I still have yet to check it out.
Its just refreshing to see people like him getting some attention. I feel that I have a similar view on wine. I don't enjoy a bottle just because it cost me twice as much as another, I enjoy the bottle because it tastes and smells good to me. At my own wine parties, the prices and types of wines vary greatly. I never considered myself a huge merlot fan, however on one occasion I had a Rutherford Ranch merlot that is ranked on my top 5 favorites. I didn't see that coming!
I even think it would be fun at my next wine party, to buy a couple boxes of cheap wine and play wine pong or wine quarters or drink from a wine bong.

Anyway- this mentality is similar to the that of our tour guide at Chandon- Joe, remember that ex-marine, turned wine connoisseur guy!? Although he was obviously above average with his wine skillz.
He said, drink what you like- but learn what it is that you like. He did admit later-tho that his palate preferred the pricey wines. HAHA!
Thats what he gets for being an above average joe wino!
Dood. I'm totally going to have to watch his show, because I love wine, but I'd like to be passionate about it.
